LYSISTRATA by Aristophanes

The Peloponnesian War has been going on for twenty years, and Lysistrata has just about had it. So she persuades the Greek and Spartan women to force their men to stop – by withholding sex! On its surface this is a raucous comedy, but underneath it deals with a very serious and topical theme, one that is currently brought to the fore by the "4B" reaction to recent political events. "Lysistrata" demonstrates that it may be better to let the women run the show...

This musical production is adapted from Aristophanes’ masterpiece, featuring modern English and original music by James E Bailey.
